Guru-Purnima was celebrated at Dihika Dhyana Kendra on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 10 am to 1 pm. The function was conducted by Swami Amarananda Giri, a YSS sannyasi.

The programme started with prayer and chants, followed by group meditation and a satsanga. About 192 devotees attended the programme. Many of the devotees travelled from Kulti, Birbhum, Chittaranjan, Adra, Purulia, Andal, and Durgapur in order to participate in the programme.

During his satsanga, Swamiji elaborated upon the importance of Guru for a spiritual aspirant, and also narrated many inspiring stories from the life of Gurudeva, Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda. At the conclusion of the programme, Pushpanjali was offered, followed by distribution of prasad by Swamiji to everyone present.

During the programme, a Yogoda Satsanga Lessons subscription counter was setup to help new devotees in submitting their application forms. A reception-cum-book sales counter was also arranged for providing information about YSS and for the sale of all the YSS publications.
